“Pretty Things,” a gender-bending sketch comedy show, is the creation of best friends Michael Lucid and Amanda Barrett.

“Pretty Things” began as an on-campus TV show at NYU in Fall of 2000. Michael was hosting a music video show on the channel during his senior year of school.

Michael started slipping little skits that he made with Amanda and their friends Abby and Adam in between music videos, and the skits soon took over the show.

Since we moved back to our home town of Los Angeles in 2001, the comedy hsow, now named “Pretty Things,” has aired on cable access TV across the country - from Los Angeles to Manhattan, Berkeley, Santa Cruz, Rochester, Olympia, Wheaton and other cities.

In the past year, the show has also screened in film festivals including Slamdance, Outfest, Silverlake Film Festival, New York Underground Film Festival, NY Mix Festival and other websites, such as zerotv.com

In September 2003, the “Pretty Things” sketch titled “Popcorn” won Slamdance’s Anarchy Online Competition. Log onto slamdance.com for more information about the award.
